Our story … so far

This is of course a slightly more personal one but I thought for some people, it might make for an interesting read if you have a couple of minutes to spare while waiting for tea.

This is a family business (technically), Connor and I have known each other for sometime now as he is the long-term partner of my sister. It was always a big roll of the dice as to how we’d get on but thankfully so far, so good.

We first spoke about going into business with each other a few years ago when out a run, something we’ve done and still do quite a bit. *Side note, this has proven even more necessary since launching the business. Connor has always been such a positive, high energy character and to be honest that was one of the biggest selling points. I couldn’t think of anyone better to go into business with than this guy, with his constant (sometimes tedious) sunny disposition.

After years of building successful careers - One in Financial Services with the likes of Royal London (Connor) and One in Tech Sales with the likes of PayPal and Shopify (Me / Lee), we spotted a real gap in the market to merge these 2 professions into 1.

Mainly because we are both incredibly passionate about customer service - meaning really that we just want to always do the right thing, in the right way and in the right time frame. Never over-promise but always deliver.

From day one, we have implemented a tonne of structure within the business, with a clear question at the forefront of each decision we have made so far: “How does this ultimately serve our clients?”. If it doesn’t, we bin it and we move on. I’d like to think that even as things change, we will hold onto this ethos. Whether it’s the tools we use or the messaging we convey, we’ll always have the client front and centre.

It’s not easy but then as the saying goes “Nothing worth having comes easy”. And we have certainly discovered through our small wins so far that this absolutely proves true. There really isn’t a better feeling than working incredibly hard and see it pay off.

For now our focus is on continuing to lay strong foundations as we continue to figure out “how to run a business” without losing our minds and juggling our family life. It certainly makes the family events more interesting when Connor and I have double the amount of mouths to feed but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Signing off …
Lee
